Christian Studies: Memory Test Friday (tomorrow). We talked about how to challengers and how to overcome them in witnessing to people who are prepared, unaware, or just don't care about Christ's return.
Math 3: Skills practice continued. Battleship two ways - percents and converting them to fractions and decimals, and coordinate plane battleship. Percent battleship problems due at the start of class tomorrow.
Science: Hurricane update. We continue to look at various weather websites and track what is happening with the 3 hurricanes currently being tracked in the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico. I also introduced the students to a new tool for research, Diigo. Ask your student to show it to you on their chromebook. It is like Pinterest for research!

Christian Studies: Memory Test Friday (tomorrow). We talked about how to challengers and how to overcome them in witnessing to people who are prepared, unaware, or just don't care about Christ's return.
Math 3: Skills practice continued. Battleship two ways - percents and converting them to fractions and decimals, and coordinate plane battleship. Percent battleship problems due at the start of class tomorrow.
Science: Hurricane update. We continue to look at various weather websites and track what is happening with the 3 hurricanes currently being tracked in the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico. I also introduced the students to a new tool for research, Diigo. Ask your student to show it to you on their chromebook. It is like Pinterest for research!

Math 3 -Finished Decimal Multiplication Battleship and worked some more on order of operations. HW: finish order of operations worksheet.
Science - Hurricane update and continued working on Natural Catastrophic Events Concept Map.
HW: bring in 2 liter bottles with screw top lids. They need to be washed out with labels removed. We will need 12 total.

Christian Studies - We had 2nd grade Buddies today and continued working on Lesson 51.
Math 3 - HW:Textbook Scavenger hunt, due tomorrow. Battleship with multiplying decimals, have problems completed for tomorrow. Eighth graders, have them done to turn in Monday.
Science - We made a quick check in on hurricane Irma, then brainstormed extreme weather, and began our Natural Catastrophic Events Concept Webs.

We had a great first week of school and a good start to the year!
Christian Studies - We met and interviewed our 2nd grade Buddies! First memory test next Friday.
Math 3 - We continued to review our math skills with Order of Operations.
Homework: Finish the problem worksheet (coloring optional), due Tuesday.
Science - We talked about the scientific method and worked in groups. Tuesday we will be starting our unit on Catastrophic Events, starting with weather events including hurricanes.
Homework: Hurricane Irma - find 5 facts and 2 predictions about the hurricane (in Google Classroom).
SOAR awards - We discussed them in class today and the students need to fill it out in Classroom (7th grade Home Room) by next Friday.
The Newslice is going home with your student today. In the future they will be sent out electronically. Reminder: no school on Monday to celebrate Labor Day. See you Tuesday!
