We had a fantastic full day of school!

Christian Studies  We started to get into our regular routine and spent a little time talking about the theme for this year.  I will be passing out Memory Books soon that includes all the memory work for the school year.  I will also be posting it in Google Classroom.  We then spent some time doing a community building activity and got to learn some fun things about each other in the process.

Math 3 We discussed ways that math is used in everyday life as well as some career tracks that regularly use math.  They were able to come up with some more unusual careers that use math, showing math is everywhere! We started reviewing some math skills today with adding and subtracting fractions which we finish up tomorrow.  No homework tonight.

Science  Homework: parent signature on lab safety handout, due tomorrow.
We discussed lab safety.  We started another community building activity that will continue to help us get to know each other.

Chromebooks They got their chromebooks today!  They are very excited to learn this new technology and had fun entering their Google Classrooms and exploring how to use their chromebooks.

We had a great first day of school!  It went by fast but students had a chance to worship in chapel and get reacquainted and meet some new friends.  We spent time going over procedures and expectations and building our classroom community.  A few tidbits:
