Christian Studies: Memory Test Wednesday. Workbook check over Unit 6 tomorrow.

 Algebra: Finish notes-foldable for class tomorrow.  5-4 WS Practice B due Wednesday.

All Science: Due Tuesday: Lesson 2 Guided Notes and answer #7-13 (skipping #9) in the Book.  Due Wednesday: Lesson 2 Summary and Review.  In class today we assembled a lunar phases flip book to go in notebooks.

 Homeroom: Update your planner every day!  Remember to complete 10 minutes of typing club by Sunday for full credit.

Christian Studies: Today we finished lesson 66 and started the worksheet for it.  We will finish that in class on Monday.  Memory Test Wednesday. There will also be a workbook check next week once we finish the current unit.  Make sure all work that was missed from absences has been caught up.

 Algebra: Complete the "Marbleslides" activity on Desmos (the link is in GC) through slide 18.  There are additional challenge slides if you want to continue past that!  Due Monday.

 All Science: The summary and review was checked in class today, and we discussed the answers.  In addition, we took a short quiz over Lesson 1. We discussed pg. 153 and glued in the next set of guided notes for Lesson 2.  
  • Due Tuesday: Lesson 2 Guided Notes and the answers to #7-13 (SKIP #9) in the book pages.

  • We had library today.  We will also get to do library again next Friday for the last time in December.

All Science: In class today, we complete an Interactive Notebook Activity about the seasons.  Due tomorrow: Lesson 1 Summary and Review.

 Homeroom: Update your planner every day!  Remember to complete 10 minutes of typing club by Sunday for full credit. Weekly check-in due by the end of the day Friday.  There is also an ungraded assignment for chapel ideas where you can contribute your ideas for our chapel!

In Science, we have started a new unit on the solar system.  Ask your student to explain the concept of using parallax to calculate distances to stars!

In Algebra, we are continuing to work with equations and should have a test coming up early next week.

In Google Classroom, I have started to use color coding to help students know what to focus on, with colored circles at the start of the assignment titles. Hopefully this is helpful!

Here is the color coding key:
🟢 Complete and turn in (may be on time or late, check due date), in person check or on ThinkCentral

Welcome to the new school year!  I will not be updating the blog as regularly as I did last year, but I have a new tool available to you.  On the right, you can see links to learning calendars for the different classes.  These include a running list of assignments and in general what is covered in class, and will be updated regularly.  This resource is available for parents and students to keep on track and start conversations about what students are learning.  While this may be a year unlike any other, I think we are going to have an amazing year.  I look forward to working with you all to make this year a success and to help our students learn and grow!
