Christian Studies:  Buddies!  Memory test on Thursday.

 Math 3:  We reviewed graph expectations and began notes on 3-4.  No homework tonight.  Chapter 3 test next Wednesday.

 Science: Lesson 6 lab today.  Ask your student how to make a cloud!
HW:
1) (NEW) Complete Reflection #1 pg. 71 and Reflection #1 pg. 74 in science notebook.  Use complete sentences for all answers.  Due tomorrow.
2) Weather maps - Each science group (3-4 students per group) needs to have weather maps for 3 consecutive days by Monday.  They can be a national map, and it doesn't have to be for the last 3 days.  3 previously archived maps printed from the internet will work. (At least 2 groups have their weather maps ready.)
3)  IF they FAILED the assignment "What's the Forecast" in Google classroom (returned this weekend), THEN they need to redo it as a new assignment (already assigned in Google Classroom).  If they PASSED the assignment the first time, then it is OPTIONAL. Due Wednesday.
Note: Before Parent/Teacher conferences there will be a comprehensive test over Catastrophic Events: Weather.  Their previous test and quiz is their best study guide for those lessons and there will be additional study guides for Lessons 5-7 available before the test.

Christian Studies:  Memory test Thursday due to the field trip to the Whitman Mission on Friday.  Today we talked some more about the Disciples asking Jesus "Who is the Greatest?" and His response.

 Math 3:  HW: RTGO? pg. 134 #1-21 all.  Chapter 3 test next Tuesday.

 Science: We began Lesson 6 and discussed the lab we will be doing tomorrow. 
HW: 
1) Make sure predictions have been filled out for both labs for tomorrow.
2) Weather maps - Each science group (3-4 students per group) needs to have weather maps for 3 consecutive days by Monday.  They can be a national map, and it doesn't have to be for the last 3 days.  3 previously archived maps printed from the internet will work. (At least 2 groups have their weather maps ready.)

Christian Studies: Memory test was today.  We also talked about the Disciples asking Jesus "Who is the Greatest?"

 Math 3: 3-3 pg.131 #6-17 all. *includes making 4 graphs - #9, 30, 16, and 17.

 Science: We finished up Lesson 5 notes and they had time in class to work on their assignments.
HW:
1)  Student Sheet 5.1b
2) Read and take notes on "Trouble in Tornado Alley" pgs. 64-67

Christian Studies: Chapel today.  Memory test on Friday.

 Math 3: 3-1 worksheet  practice B, ordered pairs.

 Science: We read and took notes today.  HW: Read and take notes on pgs. 61 and 62, and "What are Monsoons?" (Notes: finish "Circling the Globe" and E) Jetstream and D) What are Monsoons?)
HW Part B: Each science group needs to have weather maps for 3 consecutive days by next week.  A national weather map from the newspaper or printed from online works great.

Christian Studies: Buddies! We also discussed the Parable of the Lost Sheep, opened the class store, and spent a little time studying for the memory test on Friday.

 Math 3: Are You Ready? pg. 117 #1-4 all, 6-20 evens, 21-36 all. All re-submissions for chapter 2 due tomorrow.  Chapter 2 test re-submission due Friday.

 Science:  We did a lab today exploring what happens when different air masses meet.  If you student still smells a little like a campfire when you pick them up today, it is science exploration!  Ask them to tell you what they observed.  HW: Finish Reflections #1-3, pg. 58.  Write answers in science notebook, using complete sentences.

Christian Studies:  Memory test Friday.  We continued talking about the Parable of the Sower and ways the same story could be told with a different setting.

 Math 3: Review of two-step equations by playing battleship.  HW: any questions from Two-Step Battleship that were not finished in class.  Make sure to show the "Do/Undo" table!
All resubmissions for chapter 2 due Wednesday.  Chapter 2 test resubmission due Friday.

 Science: We went over the Lesson 4 Quiz from Friday and prepared for the lab we will do tomorrow.  HW: Student Sheet 5.1a - finish: What we will keep the same, What we will change, and the Predictions for each setup of convection tubes.

Christian Studies: Memory test Wednesday.  Pastor Mark stopped by to address a couple questions that came up in class last Friday, and we finished our lesson talking about Jesus,  his compassion for people and how he helped them, and what that means for us today.

 Math 3:  Chapter 2 test on Wednesday.  Today and tomorrow are class work days to answer questions and prepare for the test.  Re-submissions for chapter 2 work (partial credit for corrected answers) are all due by next Tuesday, 10/24.
HW due Wednesday:
1) Study Guide: Review pgs. 111-112 #43-48 all, 50-70 evens
2) Ch. 2 Test pg. 113 (review), #1-35 all

 Science: Hurricane update on Ophelia.  Started reading and taking notes on "What's the Forecast?"  Lesson 4 quiz on Wednesday.

Progress Reports went home today.

Christian Studies: Memory test today.  We also discussed the miracles of Jesus and who he helped.

 Math 3:  2-8 #10-38 evens.  Chapter 2 test Wednesday.  Monday and Tuesday will be working in class on review assignments to prepare for the test.

 Science: Finished notes on Lesson 4.  Quiz next week on Lesson 4, Tuesday or Wednesday.

Tomorrow:  Spirit Wear Last Day Begins!  Free dress bottoms with a Spirit Wear top.  Spirit Wear is an BLS shirt, including all years of Fall Fest, LEST shirts, and P.E. shirts.  If a student wears a standard of dress top, they must wear standard of dress bottoms.

Progress Reports will also go home tomorrow.

Christian Studies:  Memory test tomorrow.  Today we began talking about Jesus' compassion in bringing the widow's son back to life (Luke 7:11-17)

 Math 3: 2-7#14-48 evens

 Science: Continued taking notes on Lesson 4 and over the Inquiry we did earlier this week.  Ask your student to tell you all about heat transfer! No homework.

 Science:  We did a science experiment today.  Ask you student what happens to smoke over a cold surface and over a warm surface!  HW: In science notebook, write answers to "Reflecting on What You've Done," pg. 48, #1 (A through E)

Fall Fest Quick Finish Weekend!  If our school raises and additional $5,00 over this last weekend before fall fest, the students will earn a free dress day! I know 7th grade in particular was excited about the idea of a free dress day. In addition, 7th grade is over half way to earning their ice cream party.  If each student is able to bring in $50 more in donations this weekend, that will put us over the finish line!  Quick Finish Weekend packets are due for counting on Monday, Oct. 9th.  All packets are due for good (even if you did not collect any donations) on Thursday, Oct. 12th.

Picture packets went home today and should be returned for picture day.  School pictures are this coming Tuesday, Oct. 10th.

Today is Mid-Term already!  Progress reports will be coming home next week.

Christian Studies: Memory test today.  We talked about Jesus healing the man with the withered hand, Matthew 12: 9-14.

 Science: Test today.  Short worksheet due Monday if they didn't finish it in class.

 Science: Read "Joseph Henry: The Father of Weather Forecasting" pgs. 37-41.  Take some notes in your science notebook so you know the historical significance of Joseph Henry and how he was important to present day weather predication and answer the questions in Google Classroom.

Internet Safety Talk - Parents of students in 5th-8th grades are invited to attend an Internet Safety Talk given by Detective Pochert from the Kennewick Police Department.  Detective Pochert will be here on Tuesday, Oct. 3rd,at 1:30pm to give his presentation.
